Miles (motorway miles) but still drives like new, Ideal Fuel saver with over 50 Mpg, Cheap Insurance and cheap road tax only £104.50 for 6 months), 2 Remote Honda Keys, HPI Clear, Honda Full Service History with last service done by Crown Honda Hendon. | Two Owners from new, Honda Ex-Demo car hence why it’s fully loaded and then company owned. Private Plate not included in the Sale Currently be transferred to the original Plate which is SD57 GRK. | The vehicle is in very good overall condition. This Honda CR-V is absolutely standard the way Honda intended it to be and unmolested, previous owners were mature drivers. Including myself as I work for Honda so always well looked after. | Also it’s great drive as well. Pretty much drives like a car which sits a lot lower compared to the previous version CR-V’s. When I looking around for a SUV / 4x4 I was very temped to buy a BMW x5 or Mercedes ML Couldn’t justify the running cost with Road Tax be more than £300 a year and to fill up a whole tank was over £120 and not including the maintenance costs as well. So logical choice for me was the CRV I wanted to go for the top spec one with all the Extras so I went up down the country and found this one. | Very high specification model including factory fitted options of Smart Satellite Navigation, Cruise Control with the automatic braking system very handy on the motorways and a very rear option to have, with factory big bumper kit which stands out among the rest of the CRV’s, power fold back door mirrors and Bluetooth phone integration system plus all the optional EXTRAS. | This Vehicle was purchased from new from main dealer (Phoenix Honda in Paisley) in March 2007 for £31,479. This is the executive trim level so it has sat nav, reversing camera, blue tooth the list goes on. The only feature this car doesn`t have is the radar cruise control, it does however have the standard cruise control system. This car benefits from a full Honda service history and was spec`d with Honda`s paint and interior protection from new. It has only covered 32440 miles which will go up slightly as the car is in everyday use.Tax is until Nov 2012 and the car is due its very first MOT in May 2012.This is my sisters car so one owner from new and it is her name on the log book, I`m just helping her sell it.The car is at a fair price from the research I have carried out taking into account dealer prices that can exceed £20k for the same car with 4000 more miles on.Viewing is more than welcome and I am open to offers, sensible ones obviously. The CR-V is HPI clear and has never been damaged. The funds will need to be cleared before the car is taken and cash will be checked07976938116 X

Ive looked after the car and it has no dents, just a small scratch on o/s/r wing and a crack on the door mirror lense. These are cars that bridge the gap between Vectras, Mondeos, Avenses and Mazda 6s and the high profit status duo of BMW 3 Series and Mercedes C Class. You actually get a bigger car, more like a 5 Series in size and a very nice motor it is too. Of the range the 2.4 Executive Auto got my vote, especially with the Tourer body. But this test is a stand alone for a very important reason. The new Honda Accord CDTI is Honda’s first home grown diesel. Ever. And it’s up against some very serious competition. First off this all-new 2,204cc common rail diesel is a chain cammer, like the BMW, Mercedes, Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Vectra, SAAB 9-3 and Rover 75. On paper, with just 140PS, it doesn’t come over as a winner in the power stakes. The BMW320d gets that accolade. But for Honda engineers to have signed it off at all it had to be to other diesels what Honda is to other petrol engines. The best in class for refinement. Honda wasn’t going to put its name to some gruff and growly old oil burner. Yes, from outside it sounds like a taxi. And from inside you can hear a muffled but familiar diesel knock. But the way it behaves is as un-diesel-like as the Toyota Yaris diesel. The torque is there by the bucket load (250 lb ft at 2,000rpm). But what you don’t get is any sign of the catapult effect so many diesels are guilty of. What I mean is nothing at all under 1,000rpm, then everything at once as soon as you get close to 2,000, then nothing again from 4,000rpm onwards. The new Honda CDTI is smooth and punchy throughout its rev range. It’s so flexible and free revving that on the 30mile climb of a thousand corners from Marbella to Ronda I left it in third most of the time. Unlike the Avensis D-4D, there is enough grunt to unstick the front and no finger-wagging alarmist traction control system to heavy handedly starve the wheels of power if you do. But you soon find out how to handle that one. Out on the autopista (which isn’t Spanish for ‘car launch’, by the way), the steering is a bit less happy than it is on a winding back-road. You’re more conscious of its lightness and artificial self-centring. Then you look at the speedo and realise that though the engine is only doing 3,000 rpm, the car is clocking 100mph. That’s very usefully long gearing. And means drivers who do have to spend a lot of time on the motorway should see mid 50’s fuel economy. As with the other new Accords, it shares one of the best DVD satnav systems with the huge bonus of a colour touch screen, so keying in those destinations is no longer a slow and painful process. The £1,000 or so extra you spend on the satnav earns its keep rather than sits there unused like so many less friendly systems. The only gripe is with the slightly curious phraseology used by the young lady who tells you your way. Instead of “at the next junction fork right,” she says, “the road ahead forks right.” But you soon get used to her, and she hauled us out of some amazingly complex conurbations of concrete during our short time in her company. Other new Accord virtues remain. The car is comfortable with excellent ride quality. There’s plenty of room in the back, though the centre rear is best suited to children or baby seats. The doors close with an expensive sounding thunk. The speedo is huge, so there’s no excuse for exceeding a properly posted limit. And it’s as kind to any unfortunate pedestrian who may step into its path as it is to its occupants in a crash. While the Accord CDTI may not worry BMW unduly, it’s a car that’s going to steal sales by the thousand from the Mercedes C220CDI. For more on the new Accord and Tourer, check out the separate test of the petrol versions on this website. Then sprouted an extra pair of doors making it even more practical in June 1995. But the Honda CRV was an honourable second onto the scene, beating the LandRover Freelander to the market by 6 months in June 1997, and coming in at £2,000 cheaper. It caught the public imagination of what a family car should really be, was an instant hit, and has remained so ever since. There have been many other more recent pretenders to the throne. Most notably the excellent Nissan X-Trail, which is much better off road. More recently, the Mitsubishi Outlander sneaked onto the scene. While Hyundai and KIA surprised everyone with the grippy handling Tucson and Sportage. Ford/Mazda had a go too with the all-independent Maverick II/Tribute. Imagewise at least, the current Jeep Cherokee is also a contender. While the bigger Hyundai Santa Fe, KIA Sportage, Hyundai Terracan and Ssangyong Rexton are all in the same price range. Honda went back to the drawing board and launched the current shape CRV in early 2002. And now, using the opportunity of its new 2.2 litre diesel engine, has refreshed that design for 2005. Outside it has a new front grille, new headlamps, new pedestrian friendly front bumper and new wheel-arch protectors. Inside, there are improvements to the instruments and trim. And underneath the suspension has been sorted out to give better handling. Both petrol and diesel engines are reliable chain-cam. The 2.0 petrol, as also used in the Accord and FR-V, remains superbly sweet. But the big news is the 2.2iCRDI for which we have been waiting more than a year. It’s a little bit noisier in the CRV than in the Accord. And, just as it does in the Accord, it whistles. But it gives a very pleasant, smooth drive with no sudden turbo catapult effect and relaxed cruising at 30mph per 1,000 rpm in 6th. That’s reasonable gearing for towing a caravan up to 1,386kg, which is 85% of the car’s kerb weight. Honda sets the limit slightly higher at 1,500kg. Handling is definitely better than it was with far less roll understeer. It’s about equal to an X-Trail now, though still not as good overall as a RAV-4, nor as grippy at the front as the Hyundai Tucson and KIA Sportage. But I’m talking here of extreme handling. It’s very pleasant to drive, and that’s the criterion by which most people will rate it. The rear seats still get up to all sorts of tricks, reclining or sliding backwards and forwards to give 527–628 litres of loadspace behind them, or folding up, headrests still in place, to free up 952 litres. Safety hasn't taken a back seat either because all three rear seats have proper three-point safety belts. And, with its new ultra-stiff body shell, Honda got a four-star result in the NCAP crash tests, together with the three stars for pedestrian safety which isn’t only the best for any CRV, it isn’t beaten by any saloon cars. This is the exception that makes nonsense of the case against 4x4 SUVs in towns. With its low CO2 output of 177g/km, its decent economy of 42.2mpg and its reasonably low weight of 1,631kg it is actually far more city and pedestrian friendly than most ordinary cars. As you'd expect in a vehicle of this type, there are cupholders and cubby holes all over the place. Between the front seats is a folding table with indentations for everything from a Biro to a Burger King. They haven't forgotten the boot floor that turns into a picnic table either, and that's bigger now at 861mm x 760mm. Under the flat floor, Honda's hydraulic Dual Pump four-wheel-drive system has been improved with an additional one-way ball cam and pilot clutch system that detects slippage and responds by transmitting drive to the rear wheels instantly. This works very well in wet grass, mud and snow, and also in the wet on mountain hairpins where the rear wheels clutch in and counteract understeer by pushing the car around the corner without it scrabbling for grip. Compared to the X-Trail 2.2DI. the RAV-4 D-4D and the Freelander TD4, the CRV 2.2i CDTi is more powerful, accelerates slightly better, is slightly faster, is more economical and emits less CO2, so it makes a very good case for itself. The CRV is also a British success story with 105,000 built at Swindon last year, 80,000 of which were exported. So it’s a car to genuinely feel good about. And because of that the placard-waving, ignorant anti-4x4 brigade will inevitably hate it all the more. With The i-CDTi Engine Installed, It Goes Pretty Well Too. Steve Walker ReportsYou know those TV clips from the 1950s where experts predicted how people would be living in the distant year 2000? Families lounged around in aluminium foil jumpsuits, goldfish bowls on their heads, being served meals in pill form by robots that resembled upturned chrome dustbins. This vision bore little resemblance to what most of us were actually doing at the turn of the century but it felt impossibly fresh and futuristic in its time. Fifty years hence, we almost certainly wont be driving around in vehicles like Hondas Civic but right now, the car looks more futuristic than just about anything else on the road. Build Comfort Depreciation Economy Equipment Handling Insurance Performance Styling Value The Honda Civics concept car looks and sci-fi interior are always going to be the big talking points whenever anyone is confronted with the car but, for the most part, more prosaic factors will end up determining whether it really will strike a chord with the buying public. Factors like the interior space, the versatile rear seating arrangement and the i-CDTi diesel engine that looks destined to account for a significant slice of Civic sales. Prior to actually getting behind the wheel, it was difficult to imagine Hondas 138bhp 2.2-litre i-CDTi common-rail injection diesel engine being anything but a triumph in the Civic. The same unit had already appeared in other Honda models, notably the Accord, where its refinement and linear power delivery saw it hailed as one of the most petrol-like diesels ever produced. Of course, there were also the added benefits of the low CO2 emissions, the strong torque output and the impressive fuel economy we traditionally associate with diesel cars. Expectations had been cranked so high that upon actually getting to grips with the Civic i-CDTi, it was a marginal disappointment. Honda had to make modifications to the engine in order to fit it into the Civics engine bay and some of the unerring smoothness it displays elsewhere has been lost in the process. Do not despair, however, because the Civic is still one of the quietest diesel family hatchbacks around. It never sounds quite like a diesel, emitting an unusual ticking whine thats higher-pitched that the bass clatter of most oil-burners. Under acceleration, the turbocharger can be heard whooshing in as an accompaniment. The sound is never loud enough to present a problem, even when road and wind noise are so successfully masked in the cabin. "The Honda Civics concept car looks and 1980s sci-fi interior are always going to be the big talking points"Elsewhere, its good news virtually all the way. Honda claim an outstanding 55.4mpg combined fuel consumption figure for the Civic and CO2 emissions of 135g/km will also attract the attention of company car users. The engine has smooth pulling power from low in the rev range, with 251lb/ft of torque being produced at 2,000rpm. Its capable of an 8.6s sprint to 60mph too, with a maximum speed of 127mph giving it respectable top end reserves. The Civic offers a really good driving position with firm side bolsters in the seat for support and the headrest hovering just behind your cranium. The pedals feel well weighted underfoot and theres a large foot rest area to give the left peg a break from clutching duties. The power assisted steering is very light and direct, greatly simplifying low speed work. That said, theres little feedback and things can get slightly twitchy on the motorway because of this steering sharpness. The gear lever flows around the standard six-speed gearbox with finger-light ease but the action isnt as reassuring and solid as in top rivals. The Civic has plenty of grip and does much to inspire confidence through the corners. Overall, theres no doubt its up amongst the class best handlers. This is a great-looking car, a real head-turner, but the designers have taken this futuristic high-tech line rather than going for the classically beautiful. The decision does leave question marks about how the ground-breaking look will age but whether or not the years are kind to the Civic, dull rivals like Fords Focus and Toyotas Corolla will never look as good as this Honda does now. Once you get past that swoosh of light and plastic across the cars nose, the plunging bonnet line and the multi-angled rear end, its the detailing that stays with you. The triangular exhausts, the split rear windscreen, the concealed rear door handles and the recessed front ones: Honda have pulled out the stops to make this car different. Inside, youre confronted with a daunting array of buttons and digital displays that make you instinctively feel like reaching to the owners manual, but its not as complex as it looks. The information you need is laid out in two tiers with the digital speedo and optional satellite navigation system located near the base of the windscreen so your eyes neednt divert too far from the road ahead. The rev counter, fuel gauge and trip computer are lower in a more conventional instrument binnacle. Again, its the detailing thats most eye-catching; the red starter button on the drivers right, the tactile control dials for the air-con and the sat nav. None of it would feel out of place in an executive saloon and the steering wheel is one of the most comfortable designs around. There are some areas where the Civic doesnt quite live up to the high standards it sets itself. You suspect that some of the plastics and the standard cloth seating trim may not wear too well, while the brittle clear plastic in the centre of the front grille may prove vulnerable to stone chips. Theres a large blind spot created by the thick C pillar and the split rear window also restricts rearward visibility. Overall though, the Civic is riddled with great design. Its practical too: the car is actually shorter and lower than its predecessor but its wider by 45mm and, crucially, the wheelbase is increased to 2,640mm. General interior space is good and theres a massive 485 litres of capacity in the boot. The 60:40 split rear seat backs can be folded down to increase this space or the seat bases can be simply pulled up, producing a separate load compartment between the front seats and the boot. Civic i-CDTi diesel customers will pay £15,035 for the privilege and that will land them the S model. Above this sit the SE, Sport, ES and EX derivatives with the top price being £18,100. Across the board, equipment levels are high and the pricing looks tight considering the quality of Hondas product and their premium aspirations for it. In the end, its hard to view the Civics bold design direction as anything other than a success. Some wont like it and the acid test will be how it looks in ten years time but its easily the most striking car in the sector today. Elsewhere, it has a superb interior, good driving dynamics and is remarkably practical. Honda have shown that futuristic vision neednt come at the expense of modern day relevance. Not in this case - here we are talking about Honda's CR-V.Launched in 1997 in this country and now in its second incarnation, it is built at Honda's factory in Swindon. The CR-V seems to get better and better - in most areas - particularly since the addition of diesel engines. It has one of the biggest cabins in its class, seating five adults in relative comfort and offers loads of leg and headroom. All round vision is excellent as is the elevated driving position. The boot itself is more than adequate for most shopping expeditions, swallowing shopping bags with ease and even managing a couple of pushchairs, admittedly with the stowage space cover removed. For extra space, the rear 60-40 split seats can be folded or slid forward or backwards to accommdate more challenging loads and the split rear glass door offers extra ease of access. The rest of the cabin is well equipped and well put together, although some of the switchgear has a vaguely old-fashioned look to it and the trim, although well-made, a little bland. The instrument panel is nicely laid out and all the controls are handily placed and easy to use - including the handbrake which is designed to mould in with the fascia, thus freeing up extra space in the seatwell. This in turn can be used as a walkthrough to the rear or a small drinks table can be swung into place. That is not the only touch of innovative practicality. As well as the plethora of stowage spaces it has some clever extras. I wondered what was sliding around in the boot one day, but further investigation revealed the lid for a waterproof compartment that had worked loose - it doubles as a folding picnic table. On the road the CR-V provided a few surprises. The slightly raucous 2.2-litre diesel engine is very quick with bags of pulling power throughout the rev range - almost too much power. The downside is that if you floor the accelerator, there is a fair amount of wheelspin and the six speed gearbox is bit too notchy for my liking.Despite the power, economy is excellent. I covered the best part of 350 miles and still had around a quarter of a tank of diesel. The ride is pretty composed and handling better than expected with a nice feel to the steering.Despite its 4x4 capability, the CR-V is essentially an on-road vehicle more likely to be present at the school gates than the farm gates. It automatically switches from front wheel drive to all four wheels when it detects adverse road conditions This ability and the option of diesel engines, should be an obvious attraction to caravanners and trailer towers.Standard equipment is generous the usual creature comforts including air conditioning, electric doors and mirrors and remote central locking and alarm and radio/CD player.Safety features include airbags just about everywhere, anti-lock brakes and traction control. In the 4x4 world, the CR-V takes the lead in safety for pedestrians, scoring three stars on the benchmark Euro NCAP safety scale, which puts it in the top tne per cent for pedestrian safety.FAST FACTSHonda CR-V 2.2 i-CDTi ExecutivePrice: £23,000Mechanical: 140bhp, 2,204cc, 4cyl diesel engine driving all four wheels via 6spd manual gearboxMax speed: 112mph0-62mph: 10.6 secsCombined mpg: 42.2Insurance group: 12CO2 emissions: 177g/kmBiK rating: 22%Warranty: 3yrs/ 90,000 miles; 3yrs paint; 6yrs anti-rust Words: Bill McCarthy Keywords: honda, cr-v Rate this article: Login to rate this article...
