a new clutch the first it has had £300 the car is very clean and the engine still sounds as good as the day it was bought it was my directors car before so only one previous owner it has the honda 2 litre engine and is amazingly quick so it time to grab a very good car with zero rust . new front tyre fitted 2 months ago there are a couple of dinks and a couple of skuffs.and one alloy was pinched when we had a puncture. and about 3 yrs ago the engine light came on it was one of two sensors exhaust we changed one and it came up with the other on diagnostic the garage said it will not do any harm so thats how its been for 3 years about £45 for a new one . the last couple years spent over £2000 for a gearbox overhaul. It has always had the regular services stamped into the service book and other parts replaced when required including cam belt and Vtec Valve at huge expense to myself. It has the full heated black leather interior and all the digital climate control and loads of other options and refinements as expected from a Honda of this age like electronic self closing boot lid, Rear Subwoofer for the sound system, remote central locking Alarm Immobiliser etc etc etc. The car recently started to make a tapping noise from the top of the engine and I took it to the Honda dealer but they told me it will cost me too much for them to open it up and have a look what the problem is. I`ve been told it could just be a worn tappet on the top end which needs replacing but either way I don`t want to spend more on the car or have it left in pieces after the mechanic played with it. The car still starts and drives as it should apart from the noise and the gearbox is very strong. It recently went through the MOT only needing minor items. I stopped driving it when the sound started so as not to do any further damage. The car still has long MOT and TAX. Any inspection or questions are welcome, car is in Milton Keynes and can be viewed if required or if you want more clearer pictures as these were taken on a phone just send me a message. I`ve bought a Diesel Accord Tourer... Sad times. On to the car, it is a 1999 `T` plate with only 116,000 (verified) miles on the clock, GEARBOX REBUILT BY HONDA SO NO 5TH GEAR ISSUES taxed until August and MOT`d until 15/9/12! Honda service history until June 2005 and then the last owner did it himself, and I have done the same as I have a mechanic friend who is a Honda nut and I trust him far more than a know nothing dealer! He checked the car over when I got it as I expected trouble with the age of it, but all that was wrong was a loose heatshield which he welded, and a loose arch liner that he popped back into place!!! All bushes, engine mounts, etc are fine. The interior is in excellent condition, the seats are tear free, no holes, stains, etc. There is some wear to the steering wheel but, again, no chunks missing or rips, etc. All the electrics work and so does the aircon, which I had regassed a couple of months ago as it smelt a bit `musty` from the last owner never using it! Exterior wise, I clayed, polished and waxed it when I got it so the paintwork has a lovely deep shine, and changes to purple in sunlight. Also, resprayed the wiper arms due to corrosion. HOWEVER, it is 13 years old and has a few marks. There is some slight laquer peel under the nearside headlamp due to the washer jets, the nearside front door has been keyed at some point in the past, but you can`t see it from a distance, and the boot has a 3" dent at the bottom and has rusted but it has been there for years and hasn`t got any worse. Again, not noticeable unless close up. Those are the main points but it does have a few, surface marks, stone chips, etc that would disappear with a machine polish. Modification wise I had the wheels refurbished in gunmetal as they were very kerbed, repainted calipers silver, front `H` replaced as photo`s, fitted a Solid Fabs decat (original included), removed the huge resonator from the airbox and fitted a panel filter and fitted yellowstuff pads all round with new rear discs. That is all! Finally, all tyres have loads of tread left (roughly 3-4mm on front, and rears 6-7mm). They are, however cheapos fitted by the last owner to get it through it`s MOT. They are fine in the dry, but rubbish when it`s wet. I would suggest changing them to use the car to it`s potential, unless like me you can`t justify throwing away new rubber! Accord is also fitted with a flip out Kenwood MP3 cd player! proof and has had a major service Dec 2011 and passed last MOT with flying colours. Done 84k but nothing for these engines and may rise a little as its used daily. Has a squeal coming from power steering belt when engine is cold but not a problem a £10 garage fix just need a new belt from any Halfords. These cars are compatible with the Rover 600 series. | The idle air control valve was replaced in February. | 4 new tires were also fitted in January. | She runs fine and has not once let us down. | Main dealer history upto January 2001. | Manual present. | One one key present - manual central locking. | Driver`s electric window needs fixing (it is water-tight) - replaced the motor and arm. | The engine is currently mis-firing (so a shaky ride on idle).
